Salon 1800 has long been a staple of Chicago's style scene, but the talented team is upping the ante as of late with a new 9,000-square-foot space that offers every service under the sun. Follow a cut and color with a mani/pedi and heated LaStone massage while taking in the sleek, modern design of the new digs. Creative director Becki Shunick offers this advice to blow 'em away on Valentine's Day: "Make soft sexy waves by creating a center part and spraying a Redken texturizer on individual selections, then finish with a flat iron for something a little extra special." Ah, love is in the air (or is that hair?).

An 18-year staple in Lincoln Park, Salon 1800 got a makeover when it moved into sprawling new digs on Armitage last summer. The 9,000-square-foot, bi-level salon and spa feels spacious and full of light, and a second-floor nail studio with floor-to-ceiling windows has become or favorite place for manicures in the neighborhood (the nail technicians are experts at mixing colors to create cool new shades, and they just started offering the eco-friendly SpaRitual line of polishes).
